Le Grand Large Hôtel & Spa is pleased to announce its new artistic collaboration for the 2026 season with painter Katell Le Jeune.
As part of its commitment to contemporary art, the hotel invites guests to discover a vibrant and evocative world of art through a selection of works on display throughout its spaces.
“I always paint as if I were returning from a journey…”
This sentence perfectly captures the artistic approach of Katell Le Jeune, whose work draws deeply from her explorations and her intimate connection to the ocean.
Born in 1981 in La Seyne-sur-Mer, she grew up on the beaches of Les Sables-d’Olonne, immersed in maritime culture from childhood. After studying applied arts in Nantes and earning a degree in the Merchant Marine, she set sail for the Caribbean, where her painting truly took shape. There, she developed an artistic style marked by the graphic power and rich colors of tropical landscapes.
His travels—from Andalusia to Asia, via South America—broaden his perspective and shape a unique artistic world that moves freely between figuration and abstraction.
Working primarily with a knife and acrylic on canvas, Katell Le Jeune explores texture and color as a language in their own right. Her works, true tributes to nature, convey a luminous energy and a poetry in motion, resonating with the salty atmosphere of the open sea.
Nestled in the dunes of La Rémigeasse Beach and offering breathtaking views of the ocean, Le Grand Large Hôtel & Spa is one of the few hotels on the island of Oléron to enjoy such a location. As part of a fragile environment and mindful of current ecological and social issues, we are committed to doing our part to promote a more sustainable and responsible tourism policy.
